    Course Procedure

In what order should I complete the Level One learning modules?

You are required to complete the learning modules in the following order:

    1. The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment
    2. Understanding Muscles and Movement
    3. The Fundamentals of Corrective Exercise
    4. Corrective Exercise Program Design
    5. The Complete Exercise Library (Practical Skills Requirement and Completion)

To ensure that you learn the material in The BioMechanics Method (Level One) in the step-by-step manner in which it is designed, you must complete the learning modules in order as listed above. Although you will have received all five learning modules at the same time, you should only commence working on subsequent modules once you have successfully completed the first module.

The success of The BioMechanics Method learning program depends on building your skills in the specific assessment and exercise areas one step at a time. Completing the learning modules simultaneously does not enable you to adequately comprehend the material. Your cooperation in this matter is not only a course requirement, but will greatly improve your skill acquisition as you work toward becoming a Specialist in The BioMechanics Method (Level One).

How long should it take to complete this course?

The estimated completion time for The BioMechanics Method (Level One) course in its entirety is approximately 50-75 hours. There are five learning modules that must be successfully completed in order to receive your Specialist Certificate in Level One of The BioMechanics Method. Each module is numbered separately and broken into three components. You must complete the following tasks associated with each learning module in order to progress to subsequent modules:

    1. Watch the DVD/video that corresponds with the number of the module you are working on in its entirety. Begin with Module 1 (The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment).
    2. Read the Manual/Workbook that corresponds with the DVD/video you have completed viewing and perform the various activities contained at the end of each section for that module. The estimated completion time for reading each Manual/Workbook and satisfactorily completing all skills tests and activities contained therein is approximately 12 - 20 hours (depending on the module).
    3. Complete the examination for the module you are working on. The examination portion for Modules 1 - 4 consists of 100 multiple choice questions for each module. The estimated completion time for each multiple choice exam is approximately 90 - 120 minutes. The written examination for Module 5 consists of various practical skills tests and completion time will vary depending on the individual.

How is my grade for this course determined?

Your final grade for Level One is determined on a Pass/Fail basis. In order to receive a passing grade and be eligible to claim your Corrective Exercise Specialist status, you must correctly answer a minimum of 70% of the multiple choice exam questions for Modules 1 through 4 and receive a passing mark on each of the practical skills tests contained in Module 5. If you do not receive an overall pass on the combined multiple choice exams and/or the practical skills tests on your first attempt through the online version of the course, you may retake each exam as necessary until you pass for no additional charge. Once you pass all the exams and tests for Level One, you will receive a certificate of completion verifying your status as a Specialist in The BioMechanics Method (Level One). Please note that The BioMechanics assures the confidentiality of all your educational records. As such, exam results are not given over the telephone. You have a maximum of twelve (12) months from your original date of enrollment to complete ALL FIVE learning modules for Level One. If you are unable to meet the extension requirements listed above then your enrollment in the course will expire permanently and you will not receive credit for enrollment, nor will you be able to progress to another Level in The BioMechanics Method.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you develop a course completion timeline to you help keep focused and ensure you complete all modules and tests within the timeframe allowed.
